The purpose of this document is to provide step-by-step instructions
on how to configure the terminal server
and setup the following on the SmartBits chassis:
Step 1: Click on Start,
Programs, Accessories, Communications, Hyperterminal
Step 2: Name the icon, SMB
Step 3: In the "Connect To"
window, click the "Connect Using" drop down menu and select the correct
COM port

Step 4: Configure the COM port settings as show below

Step 5: Click OK and it
should automatically connect to the chassis
Step 6: Enter Super User
mode by typing at the prompt, SU, and enter the default password,
SMB-6000 (case-sensitive)
Step 7: Set the chassis IP
address, subnet mask, default gateway, and hard-code the speed/duplex
to 10/half
NOTE: It is recommended to hard-code the speed and duplex to 10/half.
