Introduction

The purpose of this document is to provide the user step-by-step instructions to setup a
multicast stream and a PIM neighbor to send a (*,G) Join and Leave for the multicast group.

Components Used

The following components were used:

• Router with 2 interfaces connected to SmartBits and support for PIM
  
• SmartBits 6000 chassis with a TeraMetrics module
• TeraRouting Tester (TRT) version 5.00

Configuration Summary

• Setup one SmartBits port to send a multicast stream
  
• Setup a second SmartBits port to emulate a PIM neighbor
  
• Send PIM (*,G) Joins/Leaves for the multicast stream
  
• Interactively measure and view packet counters
