Introduction

The purpose of this document is to provide the user step-by-step instructions to setup a Root Bridge
running the Spanning-Tree Protocol and to send bi-directional traffic between the Root Bridge and
another SmartBits port.

Prerequisites

Requirements

The following HW/SW are required:

• SmartBits 600 or 6000 chassis with TeraMetrics module
  
• TeraRouting Tester (TRT) client application installed on workstation
• DUT - device supporting 802.1d Spanning-Tree Protocol and configured to match the topology

Components Used

The following components were used:

• Switch with two interfaces connected to SmartBits ports
• SmartBits 6000 chassis with TeraMetrics module (2 available ports)
• TeraRouting Tester (TRT) version 4.50
